A goodbye in Providence

Colleagues from the Providence Journal gathered last night to pay tribute to buyout takers there. Sheila Lennon, a features and interactive producer, chronicled it with words and pictures on a Projo blog.
It's not possible to put into words how much this hurts. The Journal, and all of Rhode Island, are poorer for losing the contributions these journalists will not be around to make.
The same could be said for the Morning News and Dallas.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about what's happened at the DMN. We here at the Baltimore Sun have gone through similar ordeals this past summer. We'll mention your blog on our blog -- newsofthesun.blogspot.com -- and throw up a link, too. Maybe we can start to find all the blogs that have been started up across the country, where newspaper folks are keeping their colleagues in the loop on the difficult times we're all facing.

Best of luck to you all,
